Memorial Specialties Medical Complex
A hospital complex that is comprised of two medical centers and numerous urgent care centers.
Project Description
Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with about 200 million inhabitants. Although it is oil rich, the health indicators are poor. We plan to deliver programs focused on health especially maternal and pediatric healthcare throughout the country.
The company MEMORIAL SPECIALIST HOSPITAL MEDICAL COMPLEX LIMITED is planned to set up two world class specialist medical centers:
A. MEMORIAL SPECIALIST MEDICAL CENTRE
B. ST LUKE CHILDREN HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE with highly equipped URGENT CARE CENTRES positioned around the country. ST LUKE CHILDREN HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE will be one of the few specialized children’s hospitals in the country made up of different specialty departments.
Located in OBODO-OMA LAYOUT, OWA, NIMO, NJIKOKA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, ANAMBRA STATE, NIGERIA, the complex is fully incorporated under the COMPANIES AND ALLIED MATTERS ACT 1990 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. While the project is underway and depends primarily on funding, it is expected that the project should be completed in 2 years.
Hospitals are particularly important in high poverty areas. That's why we chose to locate these hospitals in and near "inner cities", in order to benefit the less privileged. This will improve the health and quality of life in its service areas.
The URGENT CARE CENTRES are planned to be set up in different parts of the country. Socio-economically, the hospital will provide tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs for the citizens on completion with thousands of jobs to be provided during the construction of the project. This will definitely have an impact on the unemployment status of the regions.
We also plan integrated community health improvement with workforce development, providing job training and a pathway to entry-level and midlevel employment. These are just a few ways in which the hospitals would support their communities, making local capacity, building a priority and creating a foundation for long term poverty alleviation.
Two hospitals and numerous urgent care centers will be built to provide numerous benefits for the cities and country - stimulate the economy, provide new career skill set opportunities and most importantly, provide needed healthcare that's affordable if not free.
- Includes 2 main hospitals: MEMORIAL SPECIALIST MEDICAL CENTRE,
- ST LUKE CHILDREN HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE.
- URGENT CARE CENTRES various parts of the country .
- One of the only specialized children’s hospitals in Nigeria.
- Increasing career training and employment.
- Increasing workforce by 10s of thousands.
While the demand for free and affordable healthcare is tremendous, the status of the hospital construction is still underway. Employment of workers is not available yet. But now is the time for training and education.
